Meet the Muruja: a hand woven, artisan made, and a one of kind creation to carry your life’s essentials, market finds and more.
Maruja Woven Shoulder Bag
The ‘Muruja’ bag, is unique, like you. An Individual, and a one-of-a-kind creation.
The ‘Maruja’ bag has been named after its’ maker, Muruja, a talented weaver who lives in the traditional artisan village of Chinchero, hidden high up the Andes Mountain ranges of Peru.
It is a slow fashion bag with a story.
Featuring a simple, streamlined silhouette and top zipper to keep your contents secure, the ‘Maruja’ bag will roam wherever you may roam.
Strong enough to load up with your everyday essentials, market finds, books or an A5 sketchpad or artist supplies, and light enough to pack down into another bag to take on a mini-trip or overseas adventure, this bag is destined to become a slow fashion staple.
The ‘Maruja’ is made from 100% natural alpaca and sheep’s wool that has been hand spun and dyed using nature’s materials from the village Maurja lives in. Handmade, hand-dyed the ancient way.
Warm to the touch, a delight to behold and hold your precious life’s items, the ‘Maruja’ will marry beautifully with denim, leather, dreamy dresses and will add a touch of Peruvian magic to your workday.

Maruja is the 'breton top' equivalent of the handmade handbag world. She is true classic.
Stripes are always in fashion, and in these naturally dyed hues, Maruja is style in spades.
Pair her with a monochromatic look, a blazer to mean business or let her hang with 1970s styling.
Oh, and did I mention, like all of the items in the Kristy meets shop, she is a true original and one off. You will be the only person in your village wearing her.
